Explicación:

How are rocks formed?

First of all let's define rock. It is a material that is made up of one or more minerals from geological processes. Undrilled rocks are hard and compact structures, but clay, sand or oil are also rocks in different states.

There are 3 types of rocks, and they are formed by various processes:

Igneous or magmatic rocks: they are formed by solidifying volcanic magma upon reaching the surface and turning into lava. It is a slow process and our products are the most abundant rocks. These are primary rocks, fundamental to the existence of other rocks.

Sedimentary rocks: Sedimentary rocks are formed by the compaction of soil sediments. These rocks form when the sediments in a basin become solidified, which is why it is common to find fossils inside rocks.

Metamorphic rocks: Metamorphic rocks are any that have been produced by the evolution of a rock in a previous state, being ever in a hotter or colder environment and different pressures. These rocks acquire new conditions.

As you can see, rocks are formed by processes of different types. These processes take millions and millions of years before the rocks reach the shape they know today, so a single stone of gravel has a long story to tell
