These are Susan and Jack Peterson who live in a small town in the countryside together with their parents and their baby sister. A couple years ago they moved there and before that they lived in a huge city with a lot of traffic and noise. So it's no surprise that all family member enjoy small towns and the country side. Mr. Peterson works at the hospital in town and Mrs. Peterson is a freelance designer and housewife. At the moment Susan and Jack are at school, Mr. Peterson has a meeting and Mrs. Peterson and her neighbor Mrs. Evans, are sitting in the garden, drinking some coffee. Every Thursday Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Evans meet, but two week ago Mrs. Evan didn't visit because she didn't feel well and went to the doctor's.
In the afternoon Jack usually plays football with his best friend Tom, but today they are riding their bikes because Tom wants to try his new one. Two days ago was Tom's birthday and he had a party with all his friends. He got a new ricing bike from his parents, some books and computer games and lots of sweets. Jack was at Tom's birthday party too, he and other guests had a lot of fun. While his guest were watching Tom blow out the candles of his birthday cake and made a wish all his friend wanted to now what he wished for but Tom didn't tell anyone.
While Jack was at Tom's birthday party his sister Susan stayed home, she read all afternoon and finally finished the book at 7pm. Susan is a real bookworm and often reads two books a month. This month she read four books and at the moment she is reading the fifth! The book is called Paula's Dream and it is the story of a girl called Paula who wants to become a nurse.
Pasado Simple.
Las oraciones en pasado simple se usan para hablar de acciones terminadas en el pasado y se pueden formar con verbos regulares e irregulares.
- Los verbos irregulares no siguen un formato y su pronunciación y escritura suelen cambiar de su forma básica.
- Los verbos regulares en inglés se forman utilizando el verbo y agregándole "ed" al final.
Su estructura es la siguiente:
- Sujeto + verbo en pasado + complemento. (Oraciones Positivas)
- Sujeto + didn't + verbo simple + complemento (Oraciones Negativas)
- Did + sujeto + verbo simple + complemento + ? (Oraciones Interrogativas)
Presente Simple.
El presente simple se usa para hablar de hábitos o hechos. Su estructura es la siguiente:
- Sujeto + verbo en forma simple + complemento. (Oraciones Positivas)
- Sujeto + don't/doesn't + verbo en forma simple + complemento. (Oraciones Negativas)
- Verbo aux + sujeto + verbo en forma simple + complemento. (Oraciones Interrogativas)
Cuando el sujeto de la oración esta en tercera persona se debe agregar una "s" o "es" al final del verbo.
Presente Continuo.
El presente continuo se usa para hablar de algo que está ocurriendo en el momento o algo temporal, se forma usando el verbo to be seguido del verbo+ing. Su estructura es:
- Sujeto + verbo to be + verbo (ing) + complemento. (Oraciones Positivas)
- Sujeto + verbo to be (not) + verbo (ing) + complemento. (Oraciones Negativas)
- Verbo to be + sujeto + verbo (ing) + complemento + ? (Oraciones Interrogativas)
