Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, popularly known as Shakira is a Colombian composer, producer and singer of great recognition and success worldwide, born in Barranquilla on February 2, 1977.

Her debut album was "Pies Descalzos" released in 1995, however, it achieved worldwide recognition with the album "Laundry Service" translated as Servicio de Lavandería in 2001. Shakira's best-known songs are "Hips Don't Lie" and "Whenever, Wherever" which has made her the most sold Colombian artist and the second most successful female and Latin singer after Gloria Estefan.

Shakira is also known for dancing Arabic dance and for her support for philanthropic causes, in fact, Shakira created a foundation called "Pies Descalzos" which allows children to access a quality education in Colombia, in turn, she is goodwill ambassador of the UNICEF
