Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, in his speech at the provincial party of Manabi, called these last days of protests “hard,”however, he warned the opposition “Do not play with our patience. Do not confuse prudence with cowardice. If you jeopardize our revolution you will find us on the streets.”   He added that the protests are part of a soft coup d’etat against him with national and international support. He qualified as good the draft laws on inheritance tax and capital gains, and said they were just the pretext for the beginning of the protests.   He reiterated that the inheritance tax affects only 2% of the wealthiest population, while the tribute to capital gains seeks to combat land speculation. “These laws exist in many parts of the world, even more intense … Enough with insults! … Any accumulation of wealth is unfair, as pope Francis said.” ahi esta bien
