6x + 3 = - 51
6x = - 51 - 3
6x = - 54
x = - 54 / 6
x = - 9
so 2x - 1 = 2 ( - 9 ) - 1 = - 18 - 1 = - 19
2x + 1 = 2 ( - 9 ) + 1 = - 18 + 1 = - 17
