NOTA

PAST CONTINUOUS/PROGRESSIVE

• Sujeto: I, he, she, it ---------------- Auxiliar: WAS

• Sujeto: we, you, they ------------- Auxiliar: WERE

En las oraciones negativas también se pueden usar las contracciones negativas, que son la fusión del auxiliar WAS/WERE y el adverbio NOT:

• Sujeto: I, he, she, it ----------------- Contracción: WASN'T

• Sujeto: we, you, they -------------- Contracción: WEREN'T

Estas son todas las estructuras:

Past continuous – Affirmative:

• Sujeto + auxiliar WAS/WERE + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

Past continuous – Negative:

• Sujeto + auxiliar WAS/WERE + NOT + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

• Sujeto + contracción WASN'T/WEREN'T + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

Past continuous – Interrogative

Yes/no questions:

• Auxiliar WAS/WERE + sujeto + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

Wh-questions:

Wh-word + auxiliar WAS/WERE + sujeto + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

Past continuous - Interrogative Negative:

• Auxiliar WAS/WERE + sujeto + NOT + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

Saludos.
