Its environment consists of physical factors (such as land, air, and temperature) as well as other organisms. An organism is an individual living being. Many living things interact with other organisms in their environment. In fact, they may need other organisms to survive. This is known as interdependence. For example, some beings cannot make their own food and must eat other organisms to feed themselves. Other interactions between living things include symbiosis and competition.
