Nawal El Moutawakel is famous for being the first woman from an Islamic country to win an Olympic medal, and the first African woman to win a gold medal, winning the 400-meter hurdles event at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.After retiring from the track in 1987, she devoted herself to using her image to promote the development of women in sport, especially in Islamic countries.Currently she is one of the most respected and beloved athletic personalities in the world.

Despite having a weight of 40 kilos and height of 1.66 meters, Hasna Benhassi won two Olympic medals(silver in Athens 2004 and bronze in Beijing 2008). She was also a silver medalist at the Helsinki 2005 and Osaka 2007 open-air world championships. And she was proclaimed world champion of 1,500 meters on indoor track in Lisbon 2001.

Bouchra Ghezielle, born in France in 1979, is a French athlete, specialist in the 1500 m test, with which she has managed to become a world bronze medalist in 2005.

Hicham El Guerrouj is a double world champion, indoor world champion and world record holder. He was named best athlete of the year after remaining undefeated in more than 20 races, becoming the first man to win the award in consecutive years by the International Athletics Federation in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Nezna Bidouane is famous for winning the gold medal in 1997 and 1999, at the world championships in Athens and Jamaica. On top of that, he was a bronze medal in 400 meter hurdles at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. And in 2001 he again won the gold medal at the world championship from Kim Batten (USA).​
