The stage name of this suggestive Latin rock singer is, in turn, her real name. Shakira means "full of grace" in Arabic, and responds to the paternal origin, a Lebanese resident in Colombia since childhood. Her mother is Colombian of Spanish descent.
During her childhood, Shakiraya showed a penchant for poetry and music. He made his first steps in the school choir. She was very attracted to Arabic rhythms and dances such as belly dancing.
