On the eve of Christmas the Mcgregory family was in serious financial trouble, Sarah and George, the parents of little Dylan and Marlene; They were going through the terrible fact of being unemployed and with just enough money to buy food for a week.
Little Dylan despite his young age (6 years) was aware of the situation, his only hope for a happy Christmas was to receive a gift from Santa Claus, so he wrote him a letter asking if he could give him a wooden cart for him and a rag doll for his younger sister. Since he really believed in their existence.
Sarah and George were quite sad because they knew that they would not be able to give their children anything, nor have a decent Christmas dinner since it was two weeks before the expected date and even if they got a job they would not get paid immediately, besides everything they were probably about to be left homeless, because his house was made of a fairly light wood and outside there were cold blizzards with snowstorms and his home was about to collapse.
Marlene, like her brother, believed in Santa; One night before Christmas her mother told her to go with Dylan to buy Mrs. Marge a piece of bread at the corner store. They were walking and playing among themselves; When Mrs. Marge arrived she greeted them and sold them the piece of bread. She gave little Marlene candies, cookies and a glass of milk and told her to share with her brother. she nodded, thanked and went with Dylan home. On the way he gave her all the candy and a cookie and asked:
- Can I have the rest?
- Ah! Of course, how strange that you do not want candy.
- It's not weird, it's just that Mrs. Marge told me to share and that's what I do.
- Oh…! Okay, let's move on.
They got home and Sarah served the bread that was dinner and suddenly George's voice is heard:
- No! Don't worry, I'm not hungry, don't serve me.
- Wow ... okay, I didn't know. - Sarah replied looking at him with pity and compassion.
After dinner Marlene wanted to go out, and asked her mother:
- Can I play 15 minutes?
- Ok, but bundle up.
He went out and took the cookies and milk and left them on the snow with a little letter that said:
"Accept this gift and please bring me a lot of food and gifts in return to share with my parents and brother."
He climbed through the window of his room waiting for Santa to see him.
Dylan went out to bring his sister but… she wasn't there; It's his place, Santa was eating cookies and reading the letter!
Dylan was speechless very surprised, happy, and Santa said to him:
- Hey little one! Tell your sister thank you very much, they were delicious, I accept!
- Mmm… I… Ah… this.
- Quiet MERRY CHRISTMAS oh, oh, oh!
He walked in right away and said he wanted to see his sister, but Marlene was fast asleep.
Dylan also slept very happy and intrigued; in the morning he gave Marlene the message from Santa.
Both children stayed up late and at 11:59 p.m. out of nowhere a well-known laugh was heard.
Ho Ho Ho! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Wow! It's him - they said in chorus - they left their rooms and on the table there was a lot of food, in one corner there was a very well decorated pine tree with many gifts, five for each person and many coins and pieces of gold and finally they had an unforgettable Christmas and They lived happily ever after.
