SUMMARY CHAPTER IV:THE BROTHER FROM AUSTRALIA.
In the red house the guests were allowed to do what they wanted, according to the devised plan and that had to be kept.
Agreements should not be broken, however BETTY begged her mother Miss CALLADINE to stay and play a while longer and she agreed. The game in the afternoon was much better than in the morning and after that they returned happy to the red house.
Arriving at the red house, ANTONIO gave them bad news and that is that Mr. MARK ABLETT brother had been murdered. I assure you that the police and doctors were in the house doing the investigations.
Upon receiving such unpleasant news, everyone was very surprised and amazed, wanting to know more details of what had happened.
Mrs. CALLADINE perfectly understood what had happened but considered that they could not leave after what had happened, she needed to see and talk with Mr. MARK to express how sorry she was for what had happened and to give him her support.
The MAYOR suggested that they take BETTY that same day to LONDON. The investigation process began by the inspector, regarding the terrible death of ROBERT ABLETT.
The inspector asked CAYLEY all the questions he considered necessary, and he replied that ROBERT had been sent to AUSTRALIA since he was very young, since his brother was very ashamed of him, there was never any affection between those brothers.
ROBERT had written a letter warning his brother that he was going to visit him which annoyed MARK. The inspector also interviewed ANTONIO who gave his version of what he had seen and heard.
They and the staff will be investigated because it is not yet known if ROBERT was murdered or committed suicide.
