In that oblivion the work of many women sleeps today, but the eagerness of Ave Barrera found an echo in the Publications department of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), which in a few weeks will present the Vindictas collection with a five-fold birth that includes that Luisa Josefina Hernández's novel without reader (Mexico City, 1928); Minotauromaquia, a book by Tita Valencia (Mexico City, 1938) that made a lot of noise at the time; Absence, where María Luisa Mendoza (La China Mendoza, Guanajuato, 1930, Mexico City, 2018) gives a good example of her crazy, irreverent, excessive empire. The crypt of the mirror is recovered from Marcela del Río (Mexico City, 1932), and Tununa Mercado (City of Córdoba, 1939) leaves Argentina in a state of memory.

"The husband threw the typewriter out of the window," Marcela del Río says by phone.
The UNAM will print about 2,000 copies of each novel, at about 120 pesos (six dollars), a sum adjusted for a country where prices in bookstores far exceed what half the population can afford. For the university community they will be even cheaper. Each copy is extended by a current writer such as Ave Barrera or Claudina Domingo.
"At the beginning, maybe we were forced to read women, but now we are going from one happy find to another. We have realized that we had only eaten half of the cake. Mexican literature was incomplete. And we still have so much to read. We claim these women, who should be in every library, "says Ave Barrera. They should never have suffered the horror of a blank file in the bookstore: not a single reader.
