He, being successful and powerful, introduces her to his world and his family, places full with luxury, high society. Ana, though she is beautiful and secure, starts to shake with this new world she has never being into, bringing all her insecurities and nervousness to each scene.

The book is written from her point of view, which is why she is the main character to identify with.

Soon, Ana will know about Grey's past and she will be thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes. This will make Ana hesitate, now she starts to understand a man that is more complicate that it seemed at the beginning. 

For all the trappings of success, his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family, Christian Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control.
