Explicación:

En present simple el subject (I, you, etc) va sin el verb to be ( am, is, are), ademas se le agrega una S al verbo cuando es con is y sus variantes (She, he, it)

PEDRO RUNS FAST.

En present progresive el subject va con verb to be y se le agrega el ING al verbo.

Example:

WE ARE SINGING A LOT OF SONGS.

PEDRO IS RUNNIG FAST.
