DEVELOPING

WITH FORMAT 

Participants sit in a "U" or circle shape in a large room. The corners of the room should be fixed before the exercise as follows:

1. The shots are fixed at the target on the wall. The height of the target shooting will be in accordance with the average height of the participants. Subgroups should be separated as much as possible.

2. Distances are measured 2.5 m, 3 m, 3.30 m, 3.6 m, and 4 m from the target. These measurements will be marked on the floor with the tape and the corresponding distance is written on it.

I. After explaining the objectives of the exercise, the instructor defines the task: each member must score as many shots to the “center” as possible in each of the three stages. A hit is when the dart hits the center while at least a few seconds on the board. The instructor demonstrates, pointing to the area designated as "center." (On the regular board, they are the two inner circles.) He continues to give the following instructions.

1. Each participant will be able to practice seven shots before starting the stage: during practice and the first stage, the participants are behind the line closest to the target. (This line is marked with 2.5 m).

2. Each stage will consist of 25 shots per participant. Those who do not do the exercise (throwing darts) are responsible for keeping the marker with the number of “hits” and total shots on the Scoreboard and for collecting and handing the darts to the shooter.

3. When the score of all the people has been registered, the total of the group will receive instructions for stage 2.

II. The instructor forms the subgroups of three or four members each and gives them the Marker Sheet, a pencil and the darts. He then he answers any questions.

III. Stage 1 is carried out.

IV. The instructor explains that based on the markers of stage 1, the distance to each participant for stage 2 will be established, according to the following table:

DO NOT. OF HITS IN STAGE 1 DISTANCE IN STAGE 2

10 or less 2.5 m

11-13 3.0 m

14-16 3.3 m

17-19 3.6 m

20 or more 4.0 m

Distances are assigned and the instructor signals each participant to record his own distance on the Marker Sheet on the line marked with an "X".

V. The instructor tells the participants that they must carry out stage 2 in the same way as they did with the 1st stage, only this time they will take the shots from the distance designated for each one.

SAW. After all the scores have been recorded during stage 2, the instructor announces that due to the advantages, the scores will be similar.

VII. The instructor announces that for stage 3 the same procedure as for stage 2 will be followed and that the prizes will be awarded to the individual who has made the best score and to the subgroup with the best average.

VIII. Stage 3 takes place. If there are ties, additional shots are taken.

IX. The instructor announces the highest individual score and the subgroup with the best percentage and distributes the prizes.

X. Participants discuss the exercise in subgroups. Some suggested questions are:

1. What was the effect of the incentive on the functioning of both individuals and subgroups? What other motivational factor was present?

2. How did competing individually and in groups affect? If you were aware that you would not win any prizes. What feelings did you experience? What effect did this have on the accomplishment of the task? What was the effect of writing the markers on the flip chart?

3. Would you have had a different performance if you had been in another subgroup? Why?
