Barrio Antiguo is the historic center of Monterrey, with cobbled streets and colorful colonial architecture. Its burgeoning nightlife includes upscale breweries, electronic music nightclubs, and live music venues featuring international and regional bands. Galleries display the work of local artists and there are art, craft and antique vendors in the Callejón Cultural open air market.
Until 2010, the 16 streets that make up this sector of Monterrey featured dozens of restaurants, bars, boutiques, cafes and nightclubs, which received up to 10,000 customers every weekend.
