Juan Luis Londoño Arias (Medellín; January 28, 1994), artistically known as Maluma, is a Colombian pop, reggaeton and Latin trap singer. He rose to fame in his native country in 2011, thanks to the singles "Farandulera", "Obsesión", and "The temperature"; and with "Carnaval" (2014) in the rest of Latin America.1 His debut album, Magia (2012), was commercially successful in Colombia, 2 and a year later was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist.3
In 2015, he released his second studio album, Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy, 4 which entered number one on Billboard's main Latin album chart, and consists of the singles "Borró cassette", "El loser" and "Sin contract ”.5 In 2014 and 2015 he served as judge and coach in La voz Kids and in October 2015 his first clothing line was launched.6
In February 2016, he participated in the Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony of the American network Univisión, one of his most important live performances, where together with J Balvin he performed the song Pa 'Mayté in tribute to Carlos Vives7 also from Colombia and also the single «From that night», in which he collaborates with the Mexican singer Thalía.8 After the success of the single and the live presentation, Maluma began to be considered by specialized critics as one of the artists of «urban music from greater impact »in Latin America.9 10

In March 2018, he was summoned to perform the Spanish version of the song "Colors", the anthem for the 2018 Soccer World Cup presented by Coca-Cola. The song in English is performed by American artist Jason Derulo.
