Both ferns and plants with seeds (spermatophytes) are vascular plants, have conduction vessels for the transport of crude sap (Xilema) and the elaborated (phloem).
The main difference between them is that the Pteridophytes (Ferns) are vascular plants of the "Cryptogamous" type, they do not have visible Flowers for sexual reproduction, their sexual organs (Anteridio-Archegonium) are not visible, instead the plants with seeds are " Phanerogams ", have visible Flowers for sexual reproduction by Pollination.
The ferns reproduce by means of "Esporas" (asexual reproductive cells) contained in the Espornagios that are in the interior of the Soros (brown corpuscles located in the Folíolos of the great Fronda) by means of a cycle of alternation of generations beginning with an Asexual phase o Esporofítica followed by another sexual or Gametofítica, the plants with seeds form "Seeds resulting from the Fertilization of the anterozoid with the Oosphere for the perpetuation of the species", hence the plants with seeds are called Spermatophytes.
The ferns do not produce fruits, the plants with seeds give rise to nuts, fleshy and infrutescences resulting from the transformation of the "Flower Ovary into fruit" through Double Fertilization (Angiosperms) or Simple Fertilization (Gymnosperms).
