Rabbit Skin is the first book by David Eufrasio Guzmán, but in his case that does not mean initiation, trial and error or stroke of luck. What shines here is a rather unusual joy, as a rare animal: stories that flow through the mastery of the trade, and, above all, through the authenticity of the stories, made of a simple magic, something like a literary truth that little by little it wraps between story and story ... But this could be said of many good books of current Colombian literature; In what I do find a special seal with Rabbit Skin is that in this prose there is a delicate, nostalgic, ironic, and sometimes playful humor, which shows the conquest of one's own voice, that is, of a poetry that reinvents for others the familiar and close world once lived, and then again and again imagined in a word that is continually enriched by reading. This inexhaustible condition is an admirable merit.
