Rome is a city full of treasures! People from all over the world come here to see the art and architecture that only this city has. One of those treasures (not often found on the list of ‘must see’ attractions of the usual tourist) is Villa Farnesina. Located on the Lungotevere, next to John Cabot University, in Trastevere, this is definitely something that I recommend you see when visiting this beautiful city. You can purchase tickets at the ticket office, at the entrance to the villa. The visit lasts approximately one hour, and tickets cost €10.00 per person. Unlike some of Rome’s other attractions, the opening hours here are limited, so plan your visit well. The villa is open only from 9:00 to 14:00, with the exception of every 2nd Sunday of the month, when it is open from 9:00 to 17:00. Once you are inside, you will see the sight of magnificent frescoes by Raphael, as well as others by Sebastiano del Piombo. Audio guides, in various languages, are included in the price of the ticket, so take advantage of them, and learn about the history of this incredible place. I explored Trastevere a bit more, and then ended up at the Museo di Roma where there was a special exhibit on the life and career of the Italian comic and actor, Totò.
