Peter IS a youn boy who LIVES in a small village in the Russian countryside. He DOES NOT HAVE a father or moter so he LIVES with his grandfather.
So, early in the morning, he WALKS up the hill with lots of sheep around him.
During the day he. LOOKS after the sheep, COUNTS them, PLAYS his flute, CLIMBS up the trees and he TALKS to the sheep but they DONT ANSWER him of course. So he FEELS very lonely and bored up there in the mountian.
One day he HAS an idea to try have some fun. He DECIDES to play a trick on the people of the village. He CRIES for help as loudly as he can: Wolf, wolf please help me!
Some men and women GO out of their houses and RUN up the hill to help Peter. But when they ARRIVE there, there IS no wolf at all. Peter LAUGHS like crazy at the villagers but they ARE NOT very pleased with him. And they GO back home.
Some days later when Peter IS watching over the sheep in the meadows, a real worlf apeared and attacked the sheep. The boy TRIED to fight the wolf but it BECAME too dangerous. So Peter CRIED loudly for help again: Wolf wolf please help me!
But this time nobody SHOWED up. The people of the village STAYED at home because they DID NOT BELIEVE in Peter anymore.
Poor Peter, nobody HELPED him and he HAD to run to the village for help.
That WAS a good lesson he LEARNED that day.
