NOTA

PAST CONTINUOUS/PROGRESSIVE

Para formar el 'past continuous', también llamado 'past progressive', se deben usar los auxiliares 'WAS'/'WERE'  y la forma '-ing' del verbo principal.

Hay que elegir el auxiliar según el sujeto de la oración:

Sujeto: I, he, she, it -----------→ Auxiliar: WAS

Sujeto: we, you, they --------→ Auxiliar: WERE

Estas son todas las estructuras:

Past continuous - Affirmative:

• Sujeto + auxiliar 'WAS/WERE' + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

Past continuous - Negative:

• Sujeto + auxiliar 'WAS/WERE' + 'NOT' + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

• Sujeto + contracción 'WASN'T'/'WEREN'T' + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos

Past continuous - Interrogative:

• Auxiliar 'WAS/WERE' + sujeto + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

Past continuous - Interrogative Negative:

• Auxiliar 'WAS/WERE'  + sujeto + 'NOT' + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

• Contracción 'WASN'T'/'WEREN'T'  + sujeto + forma '-ING' del verbo principal + complementos + ?

Saludos. ✨
