Explicación:

En pasado la afirmativa se hace añadidndo -ed en los verbos regulares, pero para la negativa e interrogativa usamos el verbo auxiliar "do" también en pasado (o sea, did). En una oración negativa se niega el verbo auxiliar (didn't o did not) y en la interrogativa se pone antes del sujeto (Did I help you?)
