Respuesta:
Spanish writer and poet
Federico García Lorca was one of the most striking and ingenious characters in Spanish poetry of the last 20th century. He was born in Fuente Vaqueros (Granada) in 1898, and besides being a genius for poetry, he also wrote great plays and short novels.
He was born in a troubled time, but his family had enough money to give him a good life. His mother, who was a teacher, was his first literary influence, motivating him to read from a young age.
He studied Philosophy, Letters and Law at the University of Granada, and was passionate about reflection, justice, poetry, music and theater.
Lorca lived in student residences during his time of study and training, where many other writers, artists and scientists also lived. It is then when he begins to write seriously and publishes his first book of poems.
Federico comes into contact, through his friends at the university, with the so-called Generation of '27, a group of poets who wrote about love, death, social injustices and wars.
Lorca traveled through New York, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay to write, present his works and make friends.
His words and having belonged to the Generation of '27, earned him great success among much of the society of the time, as well as hatred and misgivings on the part of another.
Lorca's poetry is full of words of love, symbols, and a beauty and sensitivity without equal.
For example, in his poetry the grass was a symbol of death, while the moon (which was one of the symbols he used most) meant beauty and desire.
His work
He went on to write more than 10 books of poems, the most popular being Poets in New York (1930), Romancero gitano (1928) and Sonnets of dark love (1936).
He also wrote more than 10 plays, mainly dramatic and / or romantic, in which he constantly sought meaning in life and human actions.
Among the best known are La casa de Bernarda Alba (1936), Yerma (1934) and Bodas de sangre (1933).
Federico García Lorca died a victim of the Spanish civil war on August 18, 1936 in his native land, Granada.
