Napoleon Bonaparte was a military man, First Consul and Emperor of the French. His figure emerged with the French Revolution.
Napoleon was born in Ajaccio, Corsica, on August 15, 1769. He died in Santa Elena, on May 5, 1821 at the age of 51.
THEIR FIRST STEPS
Napoleon, baptized Napoleone di Buonaparte, was born into a Corsican noble family. A year before his birth, France bought Corsica from the Genoese, hence its Italian name. The following year, the Corsicans fought against the French for independence.
He was the second son of Carlo Buonaparte, a lawyer and representative of Corsica, and of Letizia Ramolino. It is said of him that as a child he was charismatic and generous, although it was common to see him involved in fights.
At age nine he got a scholarship to study at the Brienne Military Academy in France. There he remained until he was 15 years old. At that time, the young Napoleon was seen as a foreigner by the rest of his companions for his marked Italian accent. However, he managed to earn respect due to his character and leadership skills.
Immediately after, he moved to Paris, to one of the most important military academies in France. There he continued his training until he was 16 years old. He left the academy with the title of officer.
His first destination was Valence, although soon after he had to return to Corsica due to the death of his father. During this period, the French Revolution broke out and the Corsican independence struggle continued.
