Respuesta:
* COMPARATIVE:
Compare TWO subjects, objects, or places with each other that share common characteristics (adjectives). For example height, color, shape, size, contamination (places), etc.
In English, to form the comparative / superlative, the ADJECTIVE is modified:
A) If the adjective has a syllable, ER is increased at the end + THAT: high ----> higher than
b) If the adjetvio has more than two syllables, the word MORE (adjective) IS increased:
smart -----> MORE smart THAN.
For example:
I'm going to compare Luis and Ana by their height, so let's suppose that Ana is taller than Luis, so I establish the comparative.
Ana is taller than Luis. (Ana is taller than Luis)
First person: Ana
Second person: Luis
Luis is shorter than Ana. (Luis is smaller than Ana)
* Then for the comparative I establish a comparison between TWO entities.
You could also compare two things.
The bag is MORE colorful than the jacket. (The wallet is more colorful than the jacket)
First object: The bag
Second object: the jacket
* SUPERLATIVE:
Compare ONE person, animal, thing, place as an individual entity of a GROUP.
a) If the adjective has a syllable, EST is increased at the end and the word LOS is added before the adjective. Example: high -------> THE HIGHEST
b) If the adjective has more than two syllables, the word LO MÁS is added before the adjective, leaving the adjective the same. Example: smart ----> THE MOST smart
For example:
I'm going to compare Luis's height within his class.
Luis is the tallest student in the class (Luis is the TALLEST student in the class)
Individual person: Luis
Group: The class
