La erupción del volcán Tungurahua en Ecuador
El Tungurahua que está situado en la Cordillera de los andes sobre Quito, inició su más violenta erupción desde 1999 en el 2006 de 14 de julio aproximadamente a las 6 de la tarde Dejando escapar una columna de quince kilómetros, compuesto de ceniza, vapor y Rocas Durante la noche y la mañana del 15 de julio de 2006 los temblores constantes, explosiones, emisiones de cenizas y caídas de rocas pusieron a la población en alerta. Se reportó que la carretera entre Baños y Penipe sufrió daños.
Que hay que hacer en caso de una erupción volcánica:
Mantente alejado lo más posible y prepara un kit de emergencia que incluye gafas de seguridad, una máscara, una linterna y una radio en buen estado que funcione con pilas. Evita conducir, La ceniza puede dañar motores y piezas metálicas y si las cosas no conducen, no superes los 55 kilómetros por hora.
