Four prisoners were given the opportunity to be free if just one of them could work out the answer to a simple logic riddle. The prisoners were lined up as shown in the picture. They were all facing the same direction. The wall separated the fourth man from the rest. Prisoner 1 could see prisoner 2 and 3. Prisoner 2 could see prisoner 3, and prisoners 3 and 4 couldn't see anyone. They were told that there were four hats, two white and two black, but they didn't know what color hat they were wearing. The guard told them to shout out the color of their own hat as soon as they knew the answer. They were not allowed to turn around, move, talk to each other, or take their hats off. Which prisoner shouted first and what did he say?

A cuatro prisioneros se les dio la oportunidad de ser libres si solo uno de ellos podía resolver la respuesta a un acertijo de lógica simple. Los prisioneros estaban alineados como se muestra en la imagen. Todos miraban en la misma dirección. La pared separaba al cuarto hombre del resto. El preso 1 podía ver a los presos 2 y 3. El preso 2 podía ver al preso 3, y los presos 3 y 4 no podían ver a nadie. Les dijeron que había cuatro sombreros, dos blancos y dos negros, pero no sabían de qué color de sombrero estaban usando. El guardia les dijo que gritaran el color de su propio sombrero tan pronto como supieran la respuesta. No se les permitía darse la vuelta, moverse, hablar entre ellos o quitarse el sombrero. ¿Qué preso gritó primero y qué dijo?
