FLATLAND BMX BIKING
Flatland BMX is the most technical style of riding. Flatlanders do tricks on their
bicycles on smooth, flat pieces of asphalt, which is where the style got its name. It
requires great balance, agility and patience. A bike used in flat landing has one or
two sticks at the sides of the wheels, used to hold the rider’s body in place. Falls can
cause injuries, especially to the head.
SOCCER
Hundreds of kids under 15 are treated each year for injuries related to soccer.
Injuries in soccer are usually sprains, strains and contusions (bruises), mostly on the
lower extremities. Head injuries have been caused by head-to-head collisions, or
hitting one’s head on the goal post.
