Amanda: The wheel is the most... I mean, in my opinion, the most important invention ever is the
wheel. Thanks to the wheel humankind could progress to achieve so much.

Amanda: Sure... Uhm. First, if the people of Mesopotamia hadn't come up with this amazing idea,
people wouldn't have invented any fast means of transportation like cars, airplanes, trains,
subways, and bicycles. So, if someone hadn't invented the wheel, people would have traveled by
horse or even worse, people would have walked everywhere. That means of course that traveling
and exploring the world wouldn't have been easy at all if nobody had created the wheel and axle.
Not only that, if no one had created cars, trains or airplanes, we couldn't have transported
products easily either, that means a very slow development of economy and technology. In other
words, if the people of Mesopotamia hadn't invented the wheel, we wouldn't have invented phones
and we wouldn't have reached the level of technology we have today.
Teacher: Well done, you have proven your opinion using some convincing arguments. I want to
know, however, what does Ruben think?
Ruben: I changed my mind. I agree with Amanda, but only because she said that if there hadn't
been anyone who invented the wheel, we wouldn't have invented phones.
