Para los norteamericanos es imposible medir la cantidad de ciertas cosas tales como el arroz, agua o azúcar ya que para ellos sería contar granito por granito

Para preguntar acerca de los countables se usa el how many ya que preguntar exactamente la cantidad como por ejemplo

How many tomatoes are there?

(cuantos tomates hay?)

There are 5 tomatoes

(hay 5 tomates)

Y para los uncountables usamos how many para preguntar si hay

How many sugar are there?

(cuanta azúcar hay?)

There are a lot of sugar

(hay mucha azúcar)
