The objective of this study is to identify the discursive connectors most frequently used in a corpus made up of 300 sports articles from different Spanish-speaking newspapers, equally distributed in each of the following areas: baseball, soccer, American football, basketball, tennis and various sports. The foregoing in order to determine the logical relationships that occur more frequently within the framework of sports texts, more particularly journalistic notes. This research aims to contribute to the linguistic characterization of sports discourse in Spanish. The results of the study showed that the purpose connectors were the most frequently used in the corpus, since of the 1,462 registered discursive connectors, 520 cases were of purpose; while the condition connectors were the least recurrent with only 51 cases recorded.
