Explicación paso a paso:

Evan spent a total of $18

X = The jellybeans (Kg)

Y = The almonds (Kg)

a) 18 = 12 X + 21 Y

b) 18 - 21 Y = 12X

   18/12 - 21/12Y = X

    3/2 - 7/4Y = X

c) 18 = 12 X + 21 (0.25)

   18 = 12 X + 21/4

    18 - 21/4 = 12 X

    12.75 =  12 X

      X = 1.0625 = 1 kg 625 grams

d) 18 = 12 (0.1) + 21 Y

   18 = 12 (0.1) + 21 Y

   18 - 1.2 = 21 Y

    16.8= 21 Y

   16.8/21=  Y = 0.8 = 800 grams
