1. Explanation
Introduction of Present Continuous
El Presente Continuo se usa para hablar de algo que se está haciendo
en este momento.
Example,
I am drinking mate and writing an e-mail
El Presente Continuo se forma con el sujeto + verbo `to be` + verb
con terminación ‘ ing’
(Verb ‘to be’: verbo ser o estar. Se conjuga Am/ Is/ Are)
Present Continuous : Affirmative form
I AM DRINKING MATE
YOU ARE DRINKING MATE
HE IS DRINKING MATE
SHE IS DRINKING MATE
IT IS DRINKING MATE
WE ARE DRINKING MATE
THEY ARE DRINKING MATE

Negative form
Formamos la forma negativa de la siguiente manera:
SUJETO+ `VERBO TO BE`+ NOT+ VERBO +ING
Example,
SHE IS NOT DRINKING COFFEE

Interrogative form
Formamos la forma interrogativa de la siguiente forma:
`VERBO TO BE`+ SUJETO+VERBO +ING?
Example,
ARE THEY DRINKING MATE?

Para contestar por si o no:
Example:
Is he playing football?
Yes, he is / No, he is not
Excepción: Si pregunto con YOU.. Recuerden que significa vos o
ustedes… Si lo tomas como vos, se contesta con yo (I), si lo tomas como
ustedes, se responde con nosotros (We)
Example, Are you watching TV?
Yes, I am/ No, I am not
Yes, We are/ No, we are not

Hay algunas excepciones cuando se agrega al verbo el ING
Cuando el verbo termina en ``E``, la sacamos y agregamos la ING
Ejemplo, Have + ing : Having
Cuando el verbo es de tres o cuatro letras , se repite la última consonante y
se agrega ing. Es importante el orden de las consonantes y las silabas. Por
ejemplo,
RUN: (1º consonante, 2º vocal,3º consonante ) RUNNING
SWIM : (1º consonante, 2º consonante, 3º vocal, 4º consonante)
SWIMMING

Si los verbos terminan en W o Y, se le agrega directamente la ING
Ejemplo, PLAY+ ING: PLAYING

Expresiones de tiempo para el Presente Continuo
At this/the moment: en este momento
Now: Ahora
Right now: Ahora mismo
