Ejemplos de pasado simple:

- I saw a movie last Friday. (Vi una película el viernes pasado)

- She got married in 2004. (Se casó en 2004)

Con el presente perfecto la acción está relacionada con el presente. Usamos el presente perfecto para acciones en un tiempo en el pasado no específico. (With the present perfect the action is related to the present. We use the present perfect for actions in a non-specific time in the past.)

Ejemplos de presente perfecto:

- He has lived in Paris for seven years. He moved there in 2009. (Vive en París desde hace siete años. Se mudó allí en 2009.)

- She has worked in the same office all her life. (Ha trabajado en la misma oficina toda su vida.)
