A note to our English Teacher

Subject: A text about our experience and freedoms
Four years ago, during a week before “Innocence Saint’s Day”. The Malvinas neighborhood was covered by a blue beautiful sky. It was a nice day. Not for that, my best friend, Laurence, called me for saying she never want to be my friend again. In that time I was devastated and terribly depressed, terrified to celebrate the Carnival party alone. Something was not clear. I had a lot of questions, I was hoping that it were a bad dream. I couldn’t believe it. I was miserable… sad. That had to be a joke!
Fortunately and for my happiness, that’s how it was, a joke. Exactly, on December 28th she visited me at my home and invited me to go out to our favorite park where she apologized for that innocence joke. It was a joke! A horrible joke! Instantly my eyes fill with tears and I only wish to embrace her. It was the more grateful feeling that I have been able to feel in my life.
Three years later, I realize that experience was probably what makes me finally reach out to develop my life-long interest in speech, theater, and writing.
More importantly, that experience of rejection conferred me a lifelong compassion for other.
I hope she never tries to quit being my best friend.
Dylan Sharp
