Today's podcast is about a tradition that the people of Quito have loved and preserved since 1970.

It is December 5 and Miguel García of the master category, crosses the finish line of the Autos de Madera race in Quito, capital of Ecuador. He is this year's winner.

According to the local press, 45 competitors of different categories participated in the final of the wooden car race. The race is held every year in Quito to celebrate the city. The Quito festivities, for the anniversary of the founding of the capital of Ecuador, include the traditional wooden car race.

The race runs from Av. La Gasca to Calle Fernando de Santillán. The downhill race has two categories, from 15 to 20 years old and from 20 to 40 years old. The people who participate practice daily. The popular game is one of the most beloved by Quiteños and visitors during the festivities of the founding of the capital.
