La administración gubernamental de Porfirio Diaz se convirtió en una gerontocracia porque Díaz gobernó el país por más de 30 años, teniendo ya más de 75 años en sus últimos años. Además que su gabinete se conformaba en su mayoría por personas de la tercera edad.
